January 27th & 28th, 2024
The Winter Field Day location will be at the home of Michelle (WE3S) and Bryan (K6SKI)
Location: 3465 Bare Trail just south of Fairplay, off US 285 and County Road 24.
The property is on 36 acres with unobstructed views of South Park and the surrounding mountains. There is plenty of room for RVs and to set up antennas, etc. For those who will be camping, plan for boon-docking as we are off-grid and cannot provide power or water hook-ups. We have an equipment barn that can be used as a ham shack in case of wind, cold, and/or inclement weather. Everyone is welcome to use the facilities in the house (bathroom, kitchen, living room, etc.) Dogs are also welcome. Feel free to come out a few days ahead of WFD!
Directions (from Denver/Bailey)
Take US 285 South to Fairplay
Continue on US 285 South through the traffic light in Fairplay for approximately 8 miles
Turn LEFT onto County Road 24 (at the bottom of the hill ½ mile south of mile marker 174)
Take the first RIGHT onto Rogers Drive and follow for ~ 1.5 miles
Take the first RIGHT onto Bare Trail (there is a green street sign but it’s difficult to read)
Follow Bare Trail for ~1.5 miles to 3465 on the RIGHT side of the road
IMPORTANT NOTE: If using a map app, use only Google maps. Vehicle nav systems and other map apps bring you in the long way over unmaintained, unplowed roads which could be impassable if we get snow.
